There's something very satisfying about watching this ‘mindcub3r’ robot solve the Rubik's cube 👀
The robot does this in a three step process ⬇️
Step 1: Scanning – it looks at each face of the cube and, using a color sensor, builds an image of how the cube is scrambled
Step 2: Planning – based on this information it works out the specific moves it needs to make in order to solve the cube
Step 3: Solving – it moves the cube around based on this set of instructions, with a maximum of 21 moves
The current record time for a robot to solve a Rubik's cube is 0.637s ⏱️
